The ability of development of Plodia interpunctella (Hbn.) and of Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.) and Tribolium confusum (J. du Val) on Boletus edulis has been observed on slices, crumbs of different size, and on powders (6/9 - 2/6 - 1/2 - 0.5/1 mm). As to the moth, tests of development have been carried out on various species of dried mushrooms, both wild (Boletus luteus L., Cantharellus cibarius Fr.) and cultivated (Agaricus bisporus (Lange) Imbach, Pleurotus ostreatus (jacq.) Quél.), in slices. P. interpunctella did not manage to complete development on A. bisporus and on mushrooms in powder; the highest mean index of susceptibility has been recorded on B. luteus while the lowest one on C. cibarius. B. edulis crumbs permit the emerging of a higher mean number of adults compared to what observed on the various species of sliced mushrooms. The highest mean number of O. surinamensis adults and the shortest mean period of development have been noticed on crumbs of size 0.5/1; this beetle can not complete the development on powder mushroom. No significant differences are recorded among the mean number of T. confusum adults emerged from crumbs of different sizes; the lowest mean number of adults has been found on slices and powder of B. edulis.
