The preparation of a mercury adduct, (2abf)· 2HgBr2 (2abf = 2-aminobenzophenone), and the determination of its structure by single-crystal X-ray analysis is described. The structure may be considered as being built up by two different HgBr2 units, each containing short covalent HgBr bonds (a short HgN bond is also present) which are linked together by longer metalbromine interactions in a polymeric structure. The interpretation of far-infrared and Raman spectra is also discussed.

Abstract
The preparation of a mercury adduct, (2abf)· 2HgBr2 (2abf = 2-aminobenzophenone), and the determination of its structure by single-crystal X-ray analysis is described. The structure may be considered as being built up by two different HgBr2 units, each containing short covalent HgBr bonds (a short HgN bond is also present) which are linked together by longer metalbromine interactions in a polymeric structure. The interpretation of far-infrared and Raman spectra is also discussed.Pubblicazioni consigliate
