The postpartum haemorrhage is an obstetrician emergency highly unpredictable and for this feared from the obstetrical staff. Recognize the risk factors is one of the most difficult tasks but extremely important to prevent the onset of PPH. It is necessary that these information are transcribed in precise way inside of the personal medical records of every woman. This will lay the bases for a corrected transmission of the information between the various health professionals, that it is essential to provide a complete assistance to the woman. The research intends, therefore, to inquire and to analyze the main antepartum risk factors in women who developed postpartum haemorrhage with blood loss greater than or equal to 700 ml. In addition, the study makes it possible to verify the completeness of medical records through their direct observation. The examined sample is composed of 66 women. For each case anamnestic data were collected and reported in a grid built specifically for research. The results were obtained by analyzing the sample according to each risk factor investigated. The research shows that most women do not submit antepartum risk factors, reflecting thus the studies conducted to date. However it appears that not always the information are transcribed in clear and precise way inside of the clinical documentation and in particular in the section dedicated to the anamnestic collection. For this reason possible strategies for a better compilation of the data are described, so that each midwife, assisting at birth, has the ability to identify the pregnant with an increased risk of PPH.
