Qualche considerazione su storici e religione nel Novecento italiano

Moving from the relation religion/historians in Italy the XXth century, this article deals with some basic problems about the contemporary historical research, analyzing in particular the euristic role of the "history of historiography". As a consequence new and unusual questions and themes are arisen. Which are the connection between historical research and historiographical inquiry? Which are the development of the "mestiere dello storico" passing from the XXth to the XXIst century? Which are the transformation occurred moving from the aristocratic conception of the historian to the mass-historian? Is it still working the link between philosophy and history? And which kind of philosophy the historian needs? Just possible answers are tried to help the process of consciousness in the nowadays crisis of the research of the past.
