The paper considers three issues raised by the new reproductive technologies that, being border issu es, are not discussed by Carlo Flamigni and Maurizio Mori in their book. The first issue concerns the public financing of medically assisted reproduction; the second one concerns surrogate motherhood, and the third one concerns the role of the market in providing access to gametes and to services of surrogate motherhood.
