In Marjorie Agosín’s novel Sagrada memoria (1994) a new form of memorizing emerge. Abandoning the linearity of discourse, this form is a more synchronic and simultane- ous process, its aim is to regenerate the experience and to create a new way of transmission from one generation to the next. Through the rupture of the diachronical approach, the novel puts the image as a model of memory. The novel is composed by imaginative sequences cre- ated through a series of organizational devices. The methodological instruments of imagology and imaginary theories allow the study of the figure of the portrait as an example of alternative space of discourse.

Abstract
In Marjorie Agosín’s novel Sagrada memoria (1994) a new form of memorizing emerge. Abandoning the linearity of discourse, this form is a more synchronic and simultane- ous process, its aim is to regenerate the experience and to create a new way of transmission from one generation to the next. Through the rupture of the diachronical approach, the novel puts the image as a model of memory. The novel is composed by imaginative sequences cre- ated through a series of organizational devices. The methodological instruments of imagology and imaginary theories allow the study of the figure of the portrait as an example of alternative space of discourse.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
