In patients with sepsis albumin infusion compared to crystalloids alone provided hemodynamic advantages, and more favorable fluid balance without survival benefits. In patients with septic shock, as recognized at entry, hemodynamic fluid balance advantages were greater than in general population and, in addition, these patients survived significantly more at 90 days.
