ADORNO BAJO LA SOMBRA DE HABERMAS

This research project has addressed the problem of Th. W. Adorno's thought reception in Spain. Through a important fieldwork it was attempted to provide the reader with a overview of several considerations resulted by local reception of Adorno during last 50 years. In order to provide originality and historical prospective, the research was completed with unpublished contributions offered by representatives of Spanish critics. In addition to have established the peculiarity of Spanish reception of Adorno, which reflects the difficulties of absorption observed in many other countries (as well as in Germany), it was thrown light on the social, political and cultural fabric of Franco's Spain first, from the period called Transaction, then the Spain which wants to be Europe but which does not believe in its own Constitution and finally the Spain of XXI century crisis; this dissertation intended to explain the national and international reasons which made particularly difficult the interpretation of Adorno in Spain. This work includes references of all studies regarding the Spanish reception of Adorno since early 60's, when first texts about Adorno were written in Spain, until 2010. Aware of the difficulties which such ambitious project involves, no pretences of full success are advanced.
