The current attention to the theme of human rights entails a reflection on the underlying idea of laws. This regards not only the specialist sphere of the philosophy of law, but rather, more generally, the contemporary philosophical and theological debate, to which, unlike what a lot had happened for centuries, the theme of laws has instead become somewhat external. To think law on the horizob of the symbolic makes a strong analogy emerge between the two orders, which sheds light one on the other. In particular, the juridical order appears as a representation of the transcendentality of the symbolic order.
