Surface tailoring of inorganic materials for biomedical applications

Inorganic materials have been used for many years for bio-medical applications. They was utilized successfully because of both the properties of the bulk and the easy and economically methodologies for their preparation and industrial manufacturing. Surface modifications may improve significantly the success of these materials, exploiting their application in many innovative fields such as tissue engineering, nanocarriers for drugs, diagnosis and antifouling technologies. However, current information on these topics is spread though different publications in different peer-reviewed journals. The book will collect some reviews on these topics gathering together information on materials preparation and characterization, application, and diffusion on the marketplace.
