Traditional treatment protocols suggested a healing time of 2 to 3 months for alveolar ridge remodelling following tooth extraction and an additional waiting time of 3 to 6 months without loading after implant insertion were needed to achieve a full osseointegration. Recently data coming from scientific literature allowed to review this approach, changing extensively the times of healing and loading. Placing dental implants into fresh extraction sockets can be a successful treatment option and reduces the total amount of surgery. Nevertheless the time of implant treatment is reduced. A good surgical procedures is the key to obtain predictable results.

Abstract
Traditional treatment protocols suggested a healing time of 2 to 3 months for alveolar ridge remodelling following tooth extraction and an additional waiting time of 3 to 6 months without loading after implant insertion were needed to achieve a full osseointegration. Recently data coming from scientific literature allowed to review this approach, changing extensively the times of healing and loading. Placing dental implants into fresh extraction sockets can be a successful treatment option and reduces the total amount of surgery. Nevertheless the time of implant treatment is reduced. A good surgical procedures is the key to obtain predictable results.Pubblicazioni consigliate
