Wandering heretics, wandering manuscripts : the case of the Waldenses (Fifteenth to Seventeenth Century)

The problem of the circulation of the medieval heretics is strictly linked to the production and circulatiuon of books containing their beliefs. From the erudition and textual trasmission of the XVIIth century the study points out the use of books by the waldenses itinerant preachers and by the people you could get in touch with them and read them directly. Such a line of research brings to the question of the witches, as itinerant women, and the religious controversy through images that characterize the first known representation of a witch in the margin of a book: of course, a waldesian witch.

Il problema della circolazione degli eretici medievali è strettamente legato al problema alla circolazione di libri contenenti le loro dottrine e credenze. Dall'erudizione alla trasmissione dei testi del XVII secolo lo studio pone in evidenza l'uso dei libri manoscritti da parte dei predicatori itineranti valdesi e da tutti coloro che potevano entrare in contatto diretto con tale cultura religiosa itinerante. Tale linea di ricerca conduce alle streghe, in quanto donne itineranti, e alle controversie religiose attraverso le quali le immagini, che caratterizzano la prima rappresentazione di una strega, nei margini di un manoscritto.
