Il Trentino negli istituti territoriali

This paper aims to present the results of a first discovering screening of the cartographical heritage collected in Trentino archives. The analysis, conducted in public and private archives, has been developed in two different ways in relation to the type of archive investigated. In the small ones it has been possible an extensive research, while in the huge ones some specifically investigations have been done according to the significance of the fonds. This is the particular case of the Trento State Archive and among the archives present in Valsugana, the Historical archive of the city of Pergine is certainly the richest (and best preserved). It contains a large amount of documents subdivided into 10 sub-archives. The cartographic documents cover the years between the first half of the eighteenth century and the first decades of the twentieth century. It has been considered several cartographic documents already known to the public, but that didn’t have been yet analysed with a geographical reading. The study of their location within the packets containing similar documents has allowed the reconstruction of their history and add new elements to their interpretation.
