The paper explores, from a microhistorical perspective, the political engagement in the French Revolution of a jacobine woman from Nice. Basing on judicial documents against her and her letters from prison, the paper aims to analyze gender peculiarities of political involvement for the Revolution in the popular classes. It shows that women’s revolutionary practices followed specific patterns that triggered a political repressive response after 1794.
