The choice of languages may have various causes and express various contents in the literature of the Ukrainian lands and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The author discusses questions of identity, linguistic pluralism, literary canon(s), methodologies for approaching the complex connections and reciprocal interferences of those elements on the general system of Ukrainian literature of the period of Baroque.
