This short book present a synthesis of recent research on ritual uses of coins in the medieval world: coins as relics, as memory tokens offered by pilgrims, coins in graves or in the foundation of buildings. There are also a number of miracles. All this expands our understanding of coins as a very complex instrument and far ffrom being only an 'economic' tool.
