Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography is a very useful test in jaundice patients to determine chether biliary obstruction is extrahepatic or intrahepatic; furthermoreit is possible to identify the exact lesion site in order to suggest the surgical therapy.32 patients were studied with percutaneous cholangiography using a posterior approach. A success rate 94% without complications was obtained. Our results suggest that the posterior approach is preferable to the lateral one. In addition, the Authors compare Percutaneous posterior cholangiography to endoscopic retrograde cholangiography.
