At the Terme di Santa Cesarea (Italy) two samples of patients with gonarthrosis (N = 32 each) were treated for 12 consecutive days respectively with thermal mud and water therapy or magnetotherapy. Efficacy of treatment was assessed utilizing the VAS, the Lequesne index and the self-administered AIMS2 questionnaire. Both treatments showed beneficial effects on measured parameters (P<0.05), but follow-up to 90 days demonstrated a superior comparative long-term efficacy of crenotherapy (P<0.05).

Efficacy of treatment was assessed utilizing the VAS, the Lequesne index and the self-administered AIMS2 questionnaire. Both treatments showed beneficial effects on measured parameters (P<0.05), but follow-up to 90 days demonstrated a superior comparative long-term efficacy of crenotherapy (P<0.05).Pubblicazioni consigliate
