Abstract

The request or need for breast implants (BI) has certainly increased over the years. The fact that they are traceable makes them a significant element for personal identification. We present the first published forensic case in which breast implants on a severely traumatised victim were useful for a quick and cheap personal identification. We also discuss, from a literature study, the issue of traceability and the interest of BI for positive identification purposes within the European community.
