Starting from the first years of the XIX century India was gradually making her own way towards modernization. Language (hindi khari boli) and religious tradition (the myths of Krsna) were amongst her most effective instruments of keeping her own culture alive and fit to new streams of thoughts, politics, social life, as Lalluji Lal's, Premcand's and Aurobindo's writings demonstrate.
