Abstract

In this study the concentration of ions and of the carbonaceous fraciton have been investigated in PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 samples collected in Milan during winter 2003. Aim of tthe study was to investigate the domestic heating contribution to PM emission. The increasing of sulphate and nitrate concentrations when the heating source is present, indicates the contribution of domestic heatinh to the emission of gaseous precursiors of SO4 2- ans NO3-.
