We study the problem of ordering linguistic summaries of data in terms of quality, and we propose a model of quality on the basis of four basic criteria. The importance of the user in the definition and the properties of ordering relations are stressed in this paper. We illustrate our approach in the specific setting of linguistic summaries of time series data.

Abstract

We study the problem of ordering linguistic summaries of data in terms of quality, and we propose a model of quality on the basis of four basic criteria. The importance of the user in the definition and the properties of ordering relations are stressed in this paper. We illustrate our approach in the specific setting of linguistic summaries of time series data.
