Three cases of bowel, space-occupying lesions recognized by ultrasonography are reported. All of them have a 'pseudokidney' appearance. Ultrasonography can demonstrate both bowel wall and perivisceral disease. Moreover fine needle-aspiration biopsy under ultrasound guidance is an accurate, alternative approach when barium studies and endoscopy are unsuccessful.
