A ferrous sulfate gel with a proper compn. to thermalize epithermal neutrons with tissue equivalence with brain tissue gives the possibility of making phantoms which act as a continuous dosimeter for gamma radiation, with the possibility of 3-D dose detn. If in the phantom a vol. of gel contg. 10B (in the amt. typical for boron neutron capture therapy) is set, information on the absorbed dose in the tumor site may also be drawn.

Abstract
