21 patients afflicted with severe arterial hypertension have been observed and followed for a period of five months to find the cause of hypertrichosis. According to their different clinical situations, they were divided into three groups: Group A comprising seven patients with chronic renal failure, treated by Minoxidil; Group B comprising seven Kidney transplant recipients treated by Minoxidil; Group C comprising seven Kidney transplant recipients treated by pharmacological schedule without Minoxidil. Hypertrichosis was observed only in group A (7/7 patients) and in group B (6/7 patients), while none of Group C patients had any degree of hypertrichosis. The Authors discuss the incidence, age of onset of this complication, comparing their data with those of the literature.
