We read with interest the report by Hashim Ahmed and colleagues 1 claiming low rates of side-effects and promising results of focal high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for localised prostate cancer. The faculty of the Evidence-based Radiation Oncology Course of the European Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology feel that the conclusions drawn from the study should have been more cautious.
