This review describes how, in less than 25 years, polymer-supported organic catalysts have turned from chemical curiosities into powerful synthetic tools readily available to the chemical community. Whenever possible, comparison between the behavior of supported versus nonsupported catalyst is attempted. Particular attention is devoted to catalyst recovery and recycling. The discussion on the structure of the polymeric support is limited to those examples for which its influence on the catalyst performance has been clearly demonstrated.

Abstract
This review describes how, in less than 25 years, polymer-supported organic catalysts have turned from chemical curiosities into powerful synthetic tools readily available to the chemical community. Whenever possible, comparison between the behavior of supported versus nonsupported catalyst is attempted. Particular attention is devoted to catalyst recovery and recycling. The discussion on the structure of the polymeric support is limited to those examples for which its influence on the catalyst performance has been clearly demonstrated.Pubblicazioni consigliate
