The effects of humic acids (HA) on the photoinduced redn. of U(VI) in aq. suspensions contg. TiO2 particles was studied by time-resolved laser induced fluorescence in the pH range 5 to 7. The fluorescence response of both aq. phase and adsorbed U(VI) species was also analyzed. The rate of the aq. phase U(VI) photoredn. is enhanced by U(VI) complexation with HA. A photosensitizing effect of HA on the interface reaction was evidenced at high irradn. intensity, with the HA prefilter effect prevailing at low irradn. A kinetic model was developed, which takes into account U(VI) photoredn. occurring both in the aq. phase and at the semiconductor oxide-H2O interface as well as adsorption and reoxidn. reactions.

Abstract
A kinetic model was developed, which takes into account U(VI) photoredn. occurring both in the aq. phase and at the semiconductor oxide-H2O interface as well as adsorption and reoxidn. reactions.Pubblicazioni consigliate
