Using archival material - mostly unpublished - from the Egyptological Archives of the Università degli Studi di Milano, are described some of the greatest archaeological discoveries made in Egypt between the middle of the nineteenth century and the early decades of the twentieth century in 7 paragraphs: 1) Auguste Mariette: From the First Great Discoveries to the “Pyramid Texts” 2) The “First Royal Cache” 3) The Cache of the Priests of Amun and the Treasures of Dahshur 4) The “Second Royal Cache” and Tutankhamun’s Family Tree 5) The “Karnak Cachette” 6) The Tomb of Tutankhamun 7)The Treasures of Tanis.
