The anions [Rh6MN(CO)15]2- (M=Co, Rh, or Ir), obtained by condensation of [Rh6N(CO)15]- and [M(CO)4]-, contain a metallic array consisting of a trigonal prism capped on a square face, with the nitride inside the prismatic hole; the mixed-metal species show an unexpected migration of the entering metal from the capping position to the vertices of the prism.
