Abstract

A review which will focus on recent applications of phase transfer catalysis (PTC) to functional group transformation. Mild reaction conditions, safety, operational simplicity and selectivity, easy scale-up are widely accepted typical features of the PTC process. Moreover the great development in asym. PTC reactions in the last decade has enormously increased the synthetic potential of this methodol.
