A detailed description of the most important phytoplasma diseases of grapevine in Italy together with their detection methods is presented. Principal tools to prevent or reduce phytoplasma spreading and therefore to avoid severe production losses in vineyards are also reported. Disease described are "flavescence doree" that is associated with phytoplasmas belonging to ribosomal subgroups 16SrV-C and 16SrV-D and "bois noir" in which phytoplasmas belonging to ribosomal subgroup 16SrXII-A or Stolbur are present. Morphological and biological descriptions of the known insect vectors of these diseases that are respectively Scaphoideus titanus and Hyalesthes obsoletus are presented. Rules and laws to prevent spreading of the quarantine pathogen "flavescence doree" are also listed.

Abstract
Rules and laws to prevent spreading of the quarantine pathogen "flavescence doree" are also listed.Pubblicazioni consigliate
