Abstract

The original data of reversible emf. of the cell H2|HCl|AgCl|Ag as measured by different schools at various HCl molalities within the O to 100% range of ethylene glycol/H2O mixts. at temps. from 278 to 318 K were analyzed by a recently described, single stage, multilinear regression method. The best values of std. emf. E0 of the above cell, which are key quantities for the ref. value stds. of pH in the solvent mixts. aforementioned, were detd. together with the fundamental thermodn. functions ΔG0, ΔH0, ΔS0, and ΔGP0 for the cell reaction.
