A novel electrochem. method of synthesizing aryl-O-glycosides by cathodic redn. of glycosyl halides has been developed and applied to a set of phenols and polyhydroxyphenols as std. aglycons. The encouraging yields and the product stereospecificity point out to a promising application field.
