This book concerns the relationship between the publishing activity and the texts, their authors, their editors, their readers. It presents the various steps through which the papers of “a writer” become the book of “a reader”. It suggests therefore many theoretical questions about the publishing activity, the materiality of the book, the literary edition, the textual philology, the reading. In this context, it presents numerous examples from the Italian literature of the XIX and XX Centuries.

Il volume presenta i molteplici passaggi che portano le carte di uno scrittore a essere il libro di un lettore, ponendo domande sul ruolo dell'editore, riflettendo sulle questioni teoriche della trasmissione dei testi e la filologia testuale, interrogandosi sulle modalità di lettura, presentando numerosi esempi tratti dalla storia dei testi dell'Otto-Novecento.
