The thesis covers the artistic itinerary of Francesco Ricchino, painter, architect and poet (Brescia 1510/1513-1573). Despite the appreciation of his contemporaries, the esteem of important clients and the mention in Vasari’s Vite, a systematic study of this artist was yet to be done. The research starts from the biographic profile of the painter as result of an important investigation on archives. Francesco Ricchino, educated and acknowledged artist, worked in Vercelli, Brescia, Vicenza and many times at the court of Maurice and August of Saxony. In the biography there is a brief reference to the style of each painting, whereas this subject is discussed in a more exhaustive way in the catalogue of works. The catalogue is structured as follows: works of certain attribution, works of uncertain attribution, lost works or works referenced in literature. The corpus of Ricchino’s works, currently rather modest, includes about twenty pieces between paintings and prints after his drawings.

Abstract
The corpus of Ricchino’s works, currently rather modest, includes about twenty pieces between paintings and prints after his drawings.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
