Abstract
A recent thematic edition of Zibaldone permits us tu study the relationship between Leopardi's materialistic theory of passions and his philosopphy of morals. There is an apparent contradiction between the Stoic mood of Leopardi's Manuale di filosofia pratica and his anti-rationalistic Trattato delle passioni. The contradiction can be overcome by recalling the general eudemonistic character of Leopardi's practical philosophy. In a general skeptical tone, happiness can be pursued by individuals as a remedy to the disease of existence.Pubblicazioni consigliate
