Landscape values of agricultural areas are the result of tangible and intangible heritage. They include scenic beauty, recreation, education, agriculture and farm diversification. Policy makers are today asked to highlight the role of agriculture in the future sceneries of territory transformation. The experience of Italian spatial planning and management of landscape emphasises risks and effects of the policies implementation in the rural values. Lombardy region was chosen as a case-study.
