Two series of bimetallic catalysts Pt-Co and Ru-Co and three of monometallic catalysts, Co, Pt, Ru, all supported on silica, were prepared by co-impregnation or successive impregnation. In all samples containing cobalt, the percentage of this metal was 10%wt and the noble metals based catalysts contained from 0.05 to 2.5%wt of Pt or Ru. The following characterization results are discussed: massive and surface (TPR, Chemisorption, XPS), structural and microstructural (XRPD, SEM, EDX, TEM) and short-range structural (EXAFS). Moreover, FT results are presented.
