This volume contains the proceedings of the XIII Conference of Italian literature, held as usual at the site of the Villa Feltrinelli in Gargnano del Garda, 25 to 27 September 2008, and dedicated to Dante’s Rime. Challenging topic, especially after the publication (2002) of the monumental critical edition – and then the commentary – by Domenico De Robertis, and the debate that followed. The meeting of Italian and foreign specialists gave occasion to a thorough and lively discussion, rich of new proposals on many aspects of Dante’s poetry. The papers are divided, with some freedom, thematically: the first group sets the point on the correspondence between Dante and Cino, on some texts of questionable attribution and on the manuscript tradition; the second focuses on the great “canzoni” and the third consists of contributions on individual poems, themes and issues of the Rime. The meeting was held as usual in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, this year just tinged of sadness for the absence of Gennaro Barbarisi.
