The better subjectivity feels in the border, the more it can exploit the emancipatory potential. Abstract
Emerging subjectivity lives willingly in the border. In a period of transition and paradigmatic competition, the border stands out as a privileged form of sociability. The better subjectivity feels in the border, the more it can exploit the emancipatory potential. Among the key features of frontier life relevant to support what will be argumented here, it should be underlined: the very selective and instrumental use of traditions brought in the frontier from pioneers and emigrants; invention of new forms of sociability; weak hierarchies; plurality of powers and legal orders; fluidity of social relations; promiscuity among strangers and natives; hybridism of ethnic heritage and inventions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
