The sense of agency is defined as the experience of oneself as the agent of one's own action ([1], p. 523). It means being the one causing a specific movement or generating a certain thought in the stream of consciousness [2]. This ability implies distinguishing actions that are self-generated from those generated by others [1], thus contributing to the subjective phenomenon of self-consciousness [2-4]. Moreover, being the initiator of an action entails representation of oneself as causally responsible for the action and for its direct effects [5].

Abstract
The sense of agency is defined as the experience of oneself as the agent of one's own action ([1], p. 523). It means being the one causing a specific movement or generating a certain thought in the stream of consciousness [2]. This ability implies distinguishing actions that are self-generated from those generated by others [1], thus contributing to the subjective phenomenon of self-consciousness [2-4]. Moreover, being the initiator of an action entails representation of oneself as causally responsible for the action and for its direct effects [5].Pubblicazioni consigliate
