Abstract
The activities of the Chair of Egyptology of the Università degli Studi di Milano in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo started in the middle of the Nineties with the study of the scribes’ and painters’ tools for two volumes of the Catalogue Général, that will be published soon. They continued recently with the participation to the masterplan for the renovation of the Museum itself. In the meanwhile, many archival documents related to the creation and organization of the Egyptian Museums in Egypt from the middle of the 19th century to the middle of the 20th, have been collected in the Egyptological Archives of the University. They allow us to write some unknown chapters of the history of the collections, through the words of famous Egyptologists of the past, like Mariette, Loret, or Lacau.Pubblicazioni consigliate
