The purpose of this article is to demonstrate that Question Time in parliamentary sessions represents a subgenre of a wider one, the genre of plenary sessions, within parliamentary genre of political language. We have analyzed a corpus of transcriptions of plenary sessions of the Spanish Parliament. Preliminary results show that this type of question is not a regular conversational interaction trait since it violates the rules of cooperative interchange (Grice, 1975 y 1978). We raise, therefore, the hypothesis that the rounds of questions and answers would rely on the maxims of cooperation, since they follow the dialogical demands of the moment, the place, the purpose and the conventional rules of reference. In other words, they make up a textual genre with a conventional structure, for which the violation of these principles is functional. To support our hypothesis we have conducted a functional analysis of the oral question that has led us to classify it within the genre of parliamentary language. Our conclusion is that it is possible to establish a categorization of the question, based on the textual conditions of the informative structure of the text

Abstract
Our conclusion is that it is possible to establish a categorization of the question, based on the textual conditions of the informative structure of the textFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
