Sul carattere agglutinante della morfologia nominale in armeno moderno: alcune riflessioni alla luce dei parametri della Morfologia Naturale

The article focuses on the morphological innovations of modern Armenian in the light of the parameters of Natural Morphology. The typological shift of Armenian from fusivity to agglutination and other innovations which differentiate old and modern Armenian morphology can be explained in a satisfactory way only taking in consideration internal and external factors. The external factors (contact with Turkic varieties, low prestige and decay of Armenian, especially after the fall of the Cicilian kingdom)created the conditions which typically favour the shift towards more natural morphological features
