I present two activities started by the Department of Mathematics of the "Universita'' degli Studi" of Milan and at different levels dedicated to mathematics teachers. The first one is connected to the mathematics exhibition "Simmetry playing with mirrors" (Simmetria, giochi di specchi). The second one is connected with stages where mathematics teachers must face a problem that seems to be "difficult", find a solution and make direct experience of what "doing mathematics" means, under the supervision of active mathematical researchers.
