Cli-DaRe is a Citizen-Science project started in 2022 by the Associazione Italiana di Scienze dell'Atmosfera e Meteorologia (AISAM). Its main goal is to make an important step forward toward the digitization of the early Italian meteorological observations, which are still greatly incomplete, with many records available on hardcopy or as scanned images only. The most important branch is the sub-project Cli-DaRe@School which allowed engaging 500 students in the last 3 school years. Other important branches are the sub-projects Dieci e Lode and Cli-DaRe@Images. The Cli-DaRe project demonstrated the great relevance of data rescue activities for the improvement of the data sets of Italian meteorological observations and highlighted the exceptional potential of high-school students and citizen scientists in providing an enormous contribution to these activities.

Abstract
Cli-DaRe is a Citizen-Science project started in 2022 by the Associazione Italiana di Scienze dell'Atmosfera e Meteorologia (AISAM). Its main goal is to make an important step forward toward the digitization of the early Italian meteorological observations, which are still greatly incomplete, with many records available on hardcopy or as scanned images only. The most important branch is the sub-project Cli-DaRe@School which allowed engaging 500 students in the last 3 school years. Other important branches are the sub-projects Dieci e Lode and Cli-DaRe@Images. The Cli-DaRe project demonstrated the great relevance of data rescue activities for the improvement of the data sets of Italian meteorological observations and highlighted the exceptional potential of high-school students and citizen scientists in providing an enormous contribution to these activities.Pubblicazioni consigliate
