It is our great pleasure to present the Book of Abstracts of the 2026 Annual Congress of the SIFB - Italian Association for Photobiology, held in Brescia, Italy, from 22 to 24 June 2026. The annual SIFB meeting provides a unique forum for researchers working in the broad and multidisciplinary field of photobiology to share their latest scientific advances, exchange ideas, and foster new collaborations. The 2026 edition brought together scientists at different career stages, from early-career researchers to established investigators, highlighting the vibrant and continuously evolving nature of photobiology research. The scientific program covered a wide range of topics, including photodynamic therapy, photopharmacology, photobiomodulation, photosynthesis, environmental photobiology, light-driven molecular processes, and innovative photonic technologies for biomedical applications. Through keynote lectures and oral communications, participants showcased cutting-edge research and discussed emerging challenges and future perspectives in the field. We would like to sincerely thank all the authors for sharing their work, the invited speakers for their outstanding contributions, and all participants whose enthusiasm and active engagement made this congress a successful and stimulating scientific event. We hope you enjoy reading these abstracts and that they inspire new ideas, collaborations, and future discoveries in photobiology.
