Washing culture? Osservazioni sull’uso del composto elemento nominale + washing

Greenwashing, sportwashing and pinkwashing are just three of the many neologisms consisting of a noun or an adjective and the word washing. This article analyses the origin and spread of this kind of compounds by examining their morphology and their wide use through examples drawn from journal-ism. In particular, the archives of Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica are examined, but examples from RAI and other online newspapers are also included.

L’articolo analizza l’origine e la diffusione questi composti osser-vandone la morfologia e la vivace produttività tramite le sue attestazioni nel giornalismo. In particolare, si considerano gli archivi di Corriere della Sera e La Repubblica, ma si riporta anche qualche esempio dalla RAI e da altre testate giornalistiche online.
