Alleanze di classe e transizione al socialismo: il Partito comunista di Gran Bretagna dalla Broad Left Strategy alla Broad Democratic Alliance (1968-1977)

The essay aims to analyze the ideological development of the PCGB between 1968 and 1977. The internal ideological transformations of British communism were shaped by events affecting the USSR, the international and European communist movements, and the broader global context. As will be shown, from the mid-1970s onward the PCGB looked with interest to the experience of the PCI and to the project of the “Historic Compromise” as a means of renewing its strategy for advancing toward socialism.
